General Care Instructions

A few simple routines can delay professional restoration. Wash your jewelry about once a month with lukewarm water and mild soap, then dry with a soft cloth. This removes everyday residues such as dust, cosmetics, or sweat. For hard-to-reach areas, use a soft toothbrush in gentle circular motions. Make sure the jewelry is completely dry afterward. Tip: Store high-quality jewelry in velvet pouches or small boxes for extra protection.

Prevent Tarnishing

Tarnished jewelry quickly looks dull and aged – but you can prevent this. Put on your jewelry only after applying creams, perfume, or hairspray. Chlorine and saltwater can also damage jewelry, so remove it before swimming. Gold and silver are especially sensitive and may discolor irreversibly. Remove jewelry when showering or washing hands to keep it looking bright.

Gold Jewelry

For gold jewelry, a short bath in lukewarm water with mild soap or dishwashing liquid is sufficient. Use a small brush to remove dirt from narrow spaces. Afterwards, dry thoroughly and polish with a soft cloth – your gold jewelry will shine like new.

Silver Jewelry

Silver reacts with oxygen and hydrogen sulfide in the air, which causes it to tarnish over time. Regular care can slow down the process but cannot prevent it completely. Between professional restorations, we recommend silver baths and special polishing cloths to maintain its shine.

Stainless Steel Jewelry

Stainless steel jewelry is durable, easy to care for, and allergy-friendly. It barely tarnishes and is almost rust-proof. Usually, a soft cloth is sufficient for cleaning; for tougher dirt, use a mild soapy solution. For watches, always check the water resistance!
