Size Guide
What should I keep in mind?
Pay attention to the temperature. Ideally, let your fingers and arm rest for a moment before measuring to avoid slight swelling. Even if it seems trivial: Because your body reacts to outside temperatures, it can affect the measurement. In cold conditions, your skin contracts, while in warmer temperatures it tends to swell. These may be very small deviations, but even a few millimeters can influence how your jewelry feels. Measuring only takes a few seconds, but you will likely wear your jewelry for many years — it’s worth doing it right! How do I measure my ring size?
We present two simple methods that help you determine your ring size. If you are still unsure, we can provide you with a ring size measuring tool so that you can easily find your perfect size. Just send us an email at info@thelittlegoldsmith.ch and we will send you a free ring sizer.
Method 1: Measuring the ring diameter
The easiest approach is if you already have a ring that fits perfectly. You can use it for measuring. Measure the inside diameter of the ring, then compare your result with the table below.Method 2: Measuring the finger circumference
1) You will need a thread, a strip of paper, or a measuring tape. Place it around the thickest part of your finger (the knuckle).2) Mark the point where the ends meet and cut it there.
3) Measure the length of the piece and compare your result with the table.

How do I measure my necklace length?
You can conveniently determine your perfect necklace length at home. A necklace expresses different styles depending on its length. While delicate chains and small charms are often worn closer to the neck to draw attention to your face, larger pendants or statement necklaces are usually worn longer. So choose the length that best matches your outfit and the occasion.Your neck circumference plays a key role. The same necklace length can look different from person to person. To measure your own neck circumference, follow these steps:
- You will need a piece of thread.
- Place the thread around your neck just below the jawline.
- Mark the point where the ends meet.
- Cut the thread at that point and measure the length.
You can also use the thread to simulate different necklace lengths to see which one you like best.
Women: What should I know?
- A necklace completes your style — but not every necklace suits every outfit.
- Pearl and collar necklaces are often worn tighter around the neck.
- Tight necklaces give a more elegant look.
- Longer necklaces draw attention to the décolleté.

Men: What should I know?
- The most common necklace length for men is 50 cm (20").
- If you wear a pendant, choose 55–63 cm (22–25"), so the pendant sits at the center of your chest.
- If you want to wear only one chain (and you’re not looking for a bold statement chain), a width of 2–6 mm is a good start.
- If you want a thick gold chain in the “bling” category, choose a width of 12 mm or more.
